Long gone are the days when it was quite possible for organizations to survive in this competitive market without sound marketing, but at present, only a miracle can make you survive without a levelheaded marketing strategy. Mediums to reach your target audience are countless and if you and your competitors are using the same mediums for promotion then you should think out-of-the-box to entice your target customers.
Marketing done through electronic medium may help you reach a wider targeted audience but the impact is not as strong as the one created by brochures. A brochure design allows you to target those customers who don’t have access to the World Wide Web.

Creating a striking brochure design can be a challenge so here are some simple tips to help you get started.
Know Your Purpose Before Kicking Off:
The reasons for creating a brochure can be many. You may want to express (or voice), explore/learn, describe, entertain, explain, argue, inform, persuade, evaluate (judge), problem solving, and mediate by your brochure. Determine what your purpose before proceeding to designing. Come up with a brief to educate your designer about your objectives and purposes of creating a brochure.
Plan your brochure for AIDA.
AIDA is an abbreviation for Attention, Interest, Desire, & Action. To be efficient, your brochure needs to grab attention, get the prospect engrossed enough to read further, increase their craving for the product or service by using call-to-actions like such as call now, buy, get started and make an appointment, etc..

Sell, don’t tell.

To grab their attention, your brochure should focus on the benefits they’ll enjoy by purchasing from you. Remember, people don’t purchase telephone answering machines to record the messages. They get answering machines so they can never miss an important call.
Use headlines your viewers care about.

The average reader takes not more than 5 seconds to focus on the cover of a brochure to decide whether it worth a read or not. If your headline on the cover of your brochure is dull and boring, few recipients will bother reading it.

Make it easy to respond.
Make certain that your business name, contact details and website URL are easy to find in the brochure. Add your Google plus or Facebook business page, if you have any dedicated person to respond on them regularly.
