Never been a big fan of the WWE’s previous ‘scratch’ logo design. To me (with no offense), this logo seems to be more like a doodle that belongs to the sketchbook of an art student, rather than an emblem representing an internal corporation, but who am I to challenge the logo designs that stands for a gigantic conglomerate, the majority of which was financed by accredited merchandise that bore this mark? Anyways, after hordes of media rumors and dozens of leaks via social media initiated a few months back, WWE logo officially announced its new logo at Summer Slam, Sunday, August 17.
WWE’s new logo design conveys a more contemporary, bold and solid image while keeping the iconic “W,” that has been one of the main elements of the company’s long-storied history. The logo design originally designed for WWE Network, is expected to be the Pharos of sports-entertainment and will epitomize the brand as it keeps on bringing together a diverse, passionate and worldwide fanbase with a unique combo of live action, agitation and drama. At this moment in time, where it seems new logo designs are out every 15 seconds, this one was a fairly big deal.
To promote this drastic shift in the visual representation of WWE, its CEO, Mr. Vince McMahon tweeted out a picture of the new logo design at WWE headquarters, while also publicizing WWE Network that is the essence of WWE’s business proceeding.According to Stephanie McMahon, the corporation, at first, did not have any plans to integrate the Network logo as an official WWE logo design. But, a positive feedback to the Network logo propelled a company-wide change.
